It's obvious that Trump is trying to sabotage the USPS. through his buddy buddy that was appointed for the sole purpose of doing so. Personal cuts, really stupid delivery slow downs, removing of needed automated sorting machines that have been in use for years.
In Nevada the postal service has publicly told the governor they will have no problems. Some are saying because the bosses here are either delaying changes or just ignoring them.
I and friends of mine are waiting for prescriptions, upwards of 2 weeks. One week longer than normal. Now we have to be careful to order earlier if we can. Most pharmacies because of insurance policies, can't fill earlier than a 7 to 10 days before the med is to be run out of.
Before someone says change your pharmacy arrangements, I and our friends are all older with health issues. These issues would be death sentences for us. I voted for Trump, never again. I truly believe if he wasn't before he has become a sociopath.

This is becoming a serious problem when it prevents people from getting their medications.
I am hoping the Postmaster General steps in and stops the interference for the safety of everyone who relies on the postal service for their medications.

It seems Trump is trying to make the election so fouled up that he can be Putin and stay in office. He knows most voters will mail in a ballot, but may not vote in person do to the pandemic.
Then there is Trump's claims that the election results could take months if not years to be decided. That's bullshit. It may take 10 to 14 days do to recounts but that is to be expected. Trump and his people will of course sue to challenge the election results no matter what anyways.
If the DOJ wants to investigate anything worthwhile, investigate this. HONESTLY.

For all of you complaining about the post office, how many of you don’t support the services they provide? First class letter mail is basically a thing of the past. Nobody pays their bills by mail anymore do they? So why would the post office keep the machines around that process that kind of mail? When was the last time you put mail into one of those blue collection mailboxes? You can’t leave the mailbox on the street if it’s not being used because you still need to send someone there to check it for mail. As far as the new PMG goes, maybe it’s time to get an outsiders view on how it should be managed.

People just don’t understand how the post office works and that’s understandable but to say there is a crisis! Really? If your worried about your meds being delivered timely, use another service that you think is more dependable if you can find one.

    My two cents

    1. freethinker
Use another service, and pay out of pocket? Postal delivery is generally paid by the sender. I get mine by mail, no problems - yet - but don't think I'd want to pay extra for UPS or FedEx.

As far as I've seen, the claims of voter fraud by mail are unproven, just another scare tactic by ol' bonespurs to try and hang on. Seems when vote by mail works for him, he's all for it.

Vote by mail wont be a problem as far as the PO processing the mail goes. The problem will occur when the counting begins and the politicians get involved.

So, people are really believing the despicable propaganda that Trump is going to sabotage the Postal service so he can sabotage the election and remain president.

That takes a special kind of stupid to believe.

    Lets review.
The post office moves 160 BILLION packages and letters a year.
Just during the holiday season, they move 16 BILLION packages and letters.
Even if every state went exclusively to mail in voting, the total number of ballots mailed would be about 175 MILLION.
There is no chance every state will use mail in voting in 2020. Not by a long shot. MAYBE 10%, or 17 MILLION ballots. Tops.
Also, lets remember that vote by mail and/or absentee voting has been around for many years already. Its not like the post office is suddenly being asked to handle butterflies, or Unicorn dust, or elephant toes. They've done this before, they know how to do it.

So one must ask; should the post office be able to handle mail in voting in 2020, without additional funding?
    Yes. Of course.
To break it down for the mathematically challenged, mail in voting will AT MOST add 2 pieces of mail to a stack of 1,600 pieces of mail processed. Probably more like adding one piece of mail to 16,000 pieces of mail processed.

Which raises the question, why the panic in Washington?
Why is Nancy Antoinette and her power rangers recalling the House to deal with this "crisis"?

Well, first, never waste a crisis, manufactured or real.
Second, politics; Trump is against vote by mail, so despicables are for it.
Third, money. The post office needs a $160 BILLION shot of cash to deal with budget shortfalls this year, most of that for pension and benefit obligations. Alert readers may recall, back in April when the post office brought up the issue of budget shortfall, and Trump reacted by telling them if they had cut a proper deal with Amazon et al., they wouldn't be in trouble. So, it isn't like this is a new problem. This is just the perfect time to tell Congress that without that infusion, they won't be able to process all those ballots. Shooter is pretty sure, if anyone asks the post office what it will cost to process those ballots, the post office answer is going to be some approximation of $160 BILLION, please.

Now, the post master general, Louis Dejoy, might have a bit of a dilemma to deal with. You see, he was appointed by Trump back in May to, you know, get those carriers off their asses and back to delivering the mail. So. He can say "no, we can't handle 170 MILLION ballots without a cash bailout," which would please Trump, cause, vote by mail. Or, he can say "no problem, we got this" which would please despicables but probably piss off his boss, President Trump.

And, freethinker, the "warning" the post office gave 48 states was pretty much the same kind of "warning" they give Americans every holiday season about getting those cards and packages mailed so they get delivered befor Christmas.

But carry on buying this latest fake crisis.

And in the news today was the terrifying story of a veteran waiting more than a week to get his heart medication.

How can we let President Trump treat our veterans so shabbily!?

Course, buried down in the middle of the story the vet revealed that before this he's had to wait over a week, once over two weeks, for his medications.

When Shooters dad lived with us we routinely trotted down to the VA to get his medications. Don't recall ever having them mailed to us. And when dad still lived alone he'd hop the bus and run down to the VA to get his medications. Took him all day, cause, you know, bus transfers and what not. But, as he said, he didn't have anything else to do anyway. And when Dad went into hospice, they took care of his meds.

But no matter. You keep advancing the myth that President Trump and the postmaster general have cooked up a way to steal the election.

The fact is, the post office is in financial trouble, and the Trump appointed post office general is trying to save money.

That is not a bad thing, no matter how despicables want to spin it.

Over the past 20 years, I've done a lot of business shipping and used UPS, FedEx, and USPS. Of the 3, the post office has always been the most reliable and inexpensive. I learned not to use the others unless it was too big or heavy.

The post office is an easy target for cheap shots because why not? You know, government employees and all that.

As I said above, I've had to all 3 for package shipping and the USPS has been the most dependable. More than once, I've had to go to the UPS distribution center because the package had an "invalid address". Of course, the address on the shipping label was just fine. I've watched the UPS drive past without stopping and then seen the tracking status switch to "delivered.
My experience is the USPS is not much cheaper, but more reliable.

Your experience is completely different than what we get in our neighborhood. People don't get their mail, some is found on the walkways, some gets delivered elsewhere, we get others mail. To top it off, they also lost two different casiers checks I sent out for 80K each to 2 different people. Certified mail with signature required. They were both lost of course but the PO didn't even give a shit and just said we'll look into it.... They were never found, they never looked.
If that's what you consider reliable service, your bar is set too low.

Maybe the Post Offices in Louisiana employ a better grade of civil servant. I don't recall my US mail being lost, incoming or outgoing. I'm sure FedEx or UPS would have put their bloodhounds on the trail of your missing checks.

Well, in Oregon, Washington and California the post office collectively did OK, but they weren't as reliable as FedEx.

The post office routinely lost claim forms, decisions, hearing notices, rate notices, and tax reports.

      Fed ex never did.

Just another phony crisis!. Honestly, I don't even care to wade too deeply into this Libtard bullshit anymore. Yeah, blah blah blah, the USPS routinely removes underused mailboxes and transfers sorting machines from under-used facilities as a standard operating procedure means nothing to lying Libtards. They hope to freak out that part of the public that doesn't pay attention, and doesn't want to.

You can go round and round with these dipfucks, and when they lose, they just say 'Trump is Putin's puppet!' (their own little darling Mueller disproved that) or rank bullshit like 'Orange man is a Nazi' or 'He's a fatty-fat-fat!'

The fact that there's no point in playing retard games with intellectual 5 year-olds doesn't mean they win anything - and they fucking know it. They just keep on, like the inmates in the Dem asylum.

In the end, even some moderate Dem voters, and specifically the Independents, who generally sway elections, are looking very seriously at this travesty of lies, manipulation and the condoning of violence in the streets, coupled with Joe's promise to 'take away your guns' at a time when we need them the most, with the crippling of the police - due to democrats.

How fucking stupid do they think Americans are?

Have you checked your facts or maybe even tried digging in a little deeper??
Mail boxes...whatever...but sorting machines removed and destroyed coming out of the bigger hubs?? Several different articles saying yea it happens but not without having another sorter online already and not when it's already busy knowing it's gonna start picking up more...at the least it's shitty management....it sure looks worse then that. Cut overtime hours taking sorting machines which doing that will, from my understanding, drastically increases the man hours needed to hand sort all that mail. Cut hours and take some automation away?? That sounds kinda dumb to me.

So Nancy Antoinette and her power rangers thought they'd put it to Trump and pass another $3 TRILLION pork vote buying bill that they knew Trump would veto, and then they'd have another media heyday.

Pretty much anyone who thinks about this will realize that Nancy is playing politics with peoples lives, and she gives not a butterfly fart about them or America, just so long as they get Trump.

So next Nancy and the brigade doubled down with the post office "crisis".
Only that is now blowing up in her face as people ask; wait. The post office can't handle ballots now?
    Why is that?

you are right though, @latecomer91364 , trying to discuss this with a despicable is harder than trying to explain to a 3 year old why its not ok to spit on the neighbor kid.

      2006.
So, once again, one has to ask; if this was such a crisis in 2006 why didn't the Obama administration fix it while they had control of everything?

      Ah.

      Much easier to blame Trump.
      Carry on.

Instead of Looking for someone to blame...start asking why...and ask more then one source...If you dig and pretty much every artical/video points to a republican senate shoved that through in 2006 back then they were trying to sell the usps off...so they put that thing through for future retiree...I can kind of see that until you start looking at how it was written....asking for lots of cash when the country was just starting to move forward again....didn't make sense. Until you hear them say over and over privatize the usps...If they do it's going to fuck with people that still rely on a delivery service that delivers to them....And if you really want to start drawing lines...How many of the ones calling to dump the usps...how many have ties to some part of the shipping industry??
I blame the r's for that...tRump is purposely making it worse for them..

The USPS needs extra workers to use a cattle prod on the current ones so those slackers will do their job.

Got an email yesterday from the VA that any med refills done by mail are experiencing delays.

You can have your meds picked up and delivered by instacart at Costco with no extra charge when ordering groceries there at the same time.

You realize...not every person in this country has access to a costco around the corner or instacart?? Or the means to get there...pay the extra delivery charges...if you have a mail box...The USPS delivers. If they do manage to kill off the postal service...is that saved up pension going to be there for the people that have already retired....what about all the people that will get canned if that does happen?? How many new jobs will be created if that did happen? Considerably fewer then the number of jobs lost. I'm asking the wrong person...It's not my department either...I buy stamps...send bills out...use them for package delivery overall they have done it better then the others have overall ....I'd like to know their end game in killing the usps....it's not Just the election slow down... one guy yea...that's his focus...there are a few playing political chess...
